Election commission of Pakistan and the Data base company NADRA are going to launch the voter’s verification service through a SMS. The process of checking the voter’s details through SMS is almost completed. This voter confirmation service will be started from 1st of the March 2012. Right now the NDRA and Election Commission of Pakistan is working the together to register the voters.
First time in the history of Pakistan the voters will be able to check their voting details through the SMS. With this voter confirmation service the voter could confirm the data by sending the ID card number at 8300 from any network number. After sending the message to 8300 you will get a SMS from the service which will tell you about the Voter’s name, village or city, tehsil, district and the voting zone. If you find any mistake in your particulars you could correct it while informing the authorities. Mobile phone companies of Pakistan offered to start this vote verification service at the rate of Rs. 0.30 per messages but the Government ask them to charge Rs. 2 for this.
